Pregnancy, Postpartum & Infant Nutrition
You Are What You Eat & So Is Your Baby
Preconception care, what you do before becoming pregnant, sets the stage for a healthy mom and baby. My goal as your ND is two-fold: anticipate and prevent complications during your pregnancy and help you bring home a healthy baby. We know that it takes approximately 100 days to make healthy eggs and sperm, that’s why I recommend beginning a preconception care plan 3 months prior to trying to conceive. Once pregnant, there are steps we can take to reduce your chances of miscarriage and pregnancy loss. My preconception care focuses is optimal nutrition, micronutrient intake and removing environmental toxins. Unlike most perinatal support, my care continues postpartum during the ‘fourth trimester’, a critical time to nourish new moms.
Personalized Nutrition Strategies For Your Family
Eating a balanced diet has always been a big part of my life. My mom is a Registered Dietician and growing up she made sure we had homemade lunches every day. I am forever thankful for her guidance in the kitchen. She taught me how to cook quick, healthy meals on a budget, without ever feeling deprived or forbidding certain foods. I work from a model of abundance, not scarcity. My approach means sustainable meal plans, no gimmicks or fad diets, a weight-neutral approach to diet and not restricting ‘bad foods.
My interest in nutrition carried on into my Master’s when I conducted my thesis examining the impact of diet and lifestyle on gestational outcomes. I want you to understand the importance of healthy eating during pregnancy and feel confident feeding your little ones at home. Is Food Stressing You Out? It Doesn’t Have To
My goal is to help you find a realistic approach to meal planning that suits your dietary needs and busy schedule. I don’t believe in prescribing restrictive diets or one size fits all diets. I use a whole foods approach that matches your specific dietary needs, food sensitivities or cultural practices. As a busy working mom myself, I know just how hard it is to make time for healthy eating. I want to take the stress out of meal time and help your family thrive at the dinner table. My background in nutrition will help you sort through the noise and determine the best approach for you, your baby and your growing family.
