My goal for 2022? Help more patients reach their health goals. I’ve been thinking a lot lately as to why some people achieve their health goals and others fall short. What barriers get in the way, what habits set people up for success, what are common setbacks and so forth.

My Inspiration For This Post

I was inspired to write this post based on a recent solo podcast episode by Dr. Jordan Roberston, ND. I highly recommend subscribing to her podcast Women’s Health Unplugged. It is a goldmine of evidence-based, practical information for all women. I was also recently a guest on her podcast and we had a great time discussing everything IVF and PCOS.

Why Grocery Non-Negotiables

I get it, life gets busy. We have our take-out nights and frozen pizzas. Sometimes I eat cereal for dinner after a long day of work. What I’ve come to realize is that if I stockpile my kitchen and plan ahead of time, I make better choices. If I always have certain foods in my house, I’m less likely to reach for processed foods or order in. I’ll give an example of our most recent grocery delivery. Instead of buying one dozen eggs, I bought four. Three tubs of Greek yogurt. Four bags of frozen raspberries and frozen cauliflower. Two packs of spinach. You get the idea. When these foods are always available, I have healthy, quick meal options such as eggs, smoothies and stir-fries. This means as a family, we eat better. So what are the things I consistently have in my house? See below :)

You might notice that this list is very similar to my Healthy Costco Shopping List. If you are a Costco fan like me, be sure to check out my other blog post.

My Need For Chocolate

Yup, I always have chocolate in the house. I love my dark chocolate and because I always have it around, I know it is there. I know I can enjoy it and I don’t feel the need to binge on it. I think it is important to always have some treats in the house; you can learn to enjoy them mindfully and not feel deprived.
